Traffic Control & Gate Automation
Controlling vehicle access to a site can easily be achieved by one of the
following methods.
The controlling device can be operated by an intercom or one of the many reader
technologies such as key fob, proximity card, keypad or even automatically by
number plate recognition.
- Traffic Barriers are an effective and convenient means of
controlling vehicle access to a site. Many sites choose barriers to control
access because they are quick in operation, have an overt presence and are
low in cost compared to other methods.
- Gates either new or existing can be automated to provide an
access control system. They can also stop pedestrians entering the perimeter
of a site without prior authorisation. They are generally slower in
operation to barriers but this is not a problem if traffic flow rates are
low.
- Rise and Fall Bollards can also be used to restrict vehicle
access. These are very discreet and have minimum impact on their
surroundings.
