Home Security is a question of deterring a potential burglar and moving them on to a softer target. This is done by ensuring that the front door has a mortice lock fitted to it so it is not easily forced, and by then preventing easy access to the more vulnerable rear of the property.

This we can do by installing automated gates or, on a more modest scale, locking the side gate that accesses the rear of the property. Window locks are also very important in making access difficult. It will always be possible for an intruder to break the window. What the window lock is there for is to ensure that the intruder cannot easily and quietly overcome the window. If the intruder has to a make noise breaking glass there is more chance of being caught, and since the number one priority of a criminal is not to get caught this is often enough to deter them.

There are other physical security devices we can install to your home from integrated shutters, window grills, steel doors, safes and even safety rooms. It is important to remember that physical security can always be overcome and it is only a question of time and noise to defeat it. This is where an intruder alarm comes into its own.

If your home has good physical security integrated with a good quality NSI approved alarm system then you have created a massive deterrent as any criminal will know that the chances of breaking in are reduced and the possibility of being caught are greatly increased.

Commercial Security: There are many more issues to consider with commercial security.

One of the most important of these is that the value within the property is greatly increased from a domestic situation and as a result that the ability and the determination of the criminal is often much greater. Fortunately we have a much greater availability of products to defeat the criminal, providing physical barriers before they have accessed the property.

These include automated or manual bollards, roller shutters, grills and internal security stores or steel doors. As with domestic security a good quality NSI alarm integrated with the physical security is designed so that the intruder is picked up before the physical barriers are defeated. This is designed so that the intruder will panic and leave or that assistance from a guarding company or the police can be requested.

Other aspects of commercial security include restricted section keys that ensure that your keys cannot be legally duplicated, and masterkey systems that manage and control keys and access within a building.
