In addition to the seven standard models of key safe, we can provide
units to suit individual requirements.
Key safes can be modified as to size, number of locks, to incorporate
a solid door, padlock bar, or have special internal fittings.
Key Exchange Units
When more than four or seven secondary keys are required to operate
a “locking off” procedure, a Key Exchange Unit can be used in
conjunction with a key safe. The final secondary key from the
nominated key safe is locked into the control lock on the exchange
unit, which the allows the removal of the additional keys. All
additional keys must be returned to the exchange unit before the
control key can be returned to the nominated key safe. This
eliminates several key safes being tied up in one locking off
procedure.
Captive Key Box
This unit is designed to allow only one key to be removed at a time.
For example, a stores key can be captive in the box and only
removed when an engineer’s key is turned in the other lock. On
removing the stores key, the engineer’s key is held captive until
the stores key is returned. A counter records the number of times
that the captive key is removed.
Portable Key Safes
The Type 8 Key Safe has been specially designed for use where wall
space is restricted, or for engineers working at remote sites. The
central control lock can be suited to match an existing key, so that
the engineer can use the same control key as a suite of standard
key safes.
